OWL Cymru (Flintshire & Wrexham Online Watch Link Association) was founded in 1987, known then as Flintshire Neighbourhood Watch Association, then in 2010 its name and operational delivery of services. The Association's Chief Officer has done much in sharing good practise to National & Wales Regional NHW and to supporting North Wales residents and Partner organisations, on a voluntary basis on top of paid duties. The Association exists to promote 'good neighbouring' where local people 'watch' out for each other and seek to combat the things that threaten the quality of community life. A Board of Trustees (Governance) that comprises of local people representing rural & urban communities runs the Association and with RT Honourable Lord Barry Jones as its President, supported by Lady Janet Jones. The Association works closely with the Constabulary of the North Wales, North Wales Fire & Rescue Service, Local Authorities, Trading Standards, and other agencies and third sector organisations. Our service delivery is aimed at complimenting and support the Police & Community Safety Partnerships, to faciliate safe and secure environments that embrace diversity, race, faith and spans generations. The Association is particularly supportive to vulnerbale people and grous as diverse as disadvantaged neighbourhoods and farming communities, through responding to people's concerns to enable them to be and feel safe, secure and respected through a range of projects that we deliver. Our activities are aimed at enchancing the quality of life, health and wellbeing and security of the community at large, with a creditable history of youth engagement and unique awarding winning projects and scheme delivery.
