School and Community Come Together After ASB Issues
A community playground at a school was blighted by ASB issues culminating in an arson attack where the school bike shed and picnic tables were burnt down. The local Red Lion Lane Neighbourhood Watch, in conjunction with the school, brought community groups together to show how valuable the space was and to restore pride in the space. The local school, local police, Neighbourhood Watch Association Lead, bike marking, conservation, fitness and wildlife groups all connected and used the event to bring their good work to the community and increase memberships and participation. Recruitment plan for involving younger volunteers
When we ceased to attract new volunteers to our Force Area Association Board via the traditional route of an application supported by applicant’s Neighbourhood Watch Association, I devised a completely new approach to attract a diverse range of volunteers. This has proved particularly successful with younger people looking for CV-enhancing opportunities.

Anti-knife crime: young people sessions
Neighbourhood Watch worked with a Youth Worker and P.C.S.O, using Neighbourhood Watch Network’s Crime Prevention Serious Violence Toolkit and the Home Office website, providing a mixture of videos, including those featuring Leicester City FC and boxer Antony Joshua, a Quiz and interactive videos to see how the choices we make impact on our lives.
