VE party
VE street party
Nearly every household joined in with a socially distance street party on Friday 8th May. Most households decorated their front gardens with appropriate banners and flags, and joined in a celebration with music, speeches from Sir Winston Churchill and, in many cases, war time food and drinks. It really built on the community spirit felt on Thursday evenings with neighbours getting to know each other much better. There was a flurry of new members afterwards too.

Signing Up Coordinators to Neighbourhood Watch's Database
Greenwich Neighbourhood Watch proactively signs up existing and all new coordinators and schemes up to the Neighbourhood Watch's national database. We do this as they collect new signage for their scheme, we get them to complete a form which states that they will be added to the national scheme. This then saves time and allows us all to have the same database of members.

Good neighbours
Good Neighbour Guide: Production and Distribution
This March, Croydon Neighbourhood Watch Association launched our first ever Good Neighbour Guide to approximately half of the residents in the London Brough of Croydon. The guide aims to foster and help create a strong community spirit by offering suggestions and tips on how to be better neighbours, as well as signposting Croydon residents to the assistance available for common neighbourhood concerns such as parking problems and fly tipping. The guide also provides contact information for local police safer neighbourhood teams.
