The Neighbourhood Watch Network Community Police Awards celebrate local police officers who go above and beyond to help communities feel safer, more connected and supported. This is the first year of the awards, and we are proud to shine a light on the dedication, commitment and impact of officers working at neighbourhood level.

Nominate an officer who has made a real difference in their community. You do not need to be part of Neighbourhood Watch to make a nomination.

Who can be nominated?

The awards are open to serving Neighbourhood Policing Team officers, Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs), Police Constables (PCs), Sergeants, and Inspectors.

Unfortunately, we are unable to take nominations for officers that are no longer working within Neighbourhood Policing.  Officers must be contactable and currently serving in the team.

What are we looking for?

We want to hear about officers who have made a positive and lasting impact and have:

  • Worked with Neighbourhood Watch to help a community feel safer or to improve community connections.
  • Supported a Neighbourhood Watch group or individual member in their activities – this may include participating in local litter picks or community events, delivering or supporting crime prevention meetings, or working collaboratively to resolve a specific issue and achieve a positive outcome.
  • Helped to establish new Neighbourhood Watch schemes or contributed to the growth and strengthening of existing schemes – for example, by encouraging new membership or supporting residents to set up a scheme in their area.

If an officer’s actions have helped bring neighbours together, reduced fear of crime, or strengthened community confidence, we want to hear about it.

How to nominate

Nominating is simple and free.  Use the form below.

What happens next?

All nominations will be reviewed, and shortlisted officers will be recognised for their contribution to safer, stronger neighbourhoods.  More details about judging, timelines and how winners will be announced, will be shared soon.

Why these awards matter

Neighbourhood policing plays an important role in helping people feel safe where they live. These awards are about saying thank you to the officers who take the time to listen, to care and to work alongside our communities. We want to recognise their efforts and the power of partnership between local people and good police officers.
