Rural communities face considerable challenges in building communities and reducing crime.
In Devon and Cornwall, we’re working with local people, councils, police, and local groups to tackle the issues that matter, from antisocial behaviour to scams, and everything in between.
Whether you are based in a busy town or a quiet rural village, Neighbourhood Watch is here to support you to look out for your area and your neighbours.
Our local projects aim to reduce crime and antisocial behaviour through community-led action. We want to help neighbours connect, look out for each other, and feel proud of where they live. And we are working on projects led by young people in places like Torbay.
Get involved
We’re working with local councils, safer towns groups, and police teams to support joint community projects. We’ve got a dedicated project manager, Steph, who is working across the region, helping residents and local groups get the most from Neighbourhood Watch. If you want to find out more get in touch.
- Start or join one of our new local groups – people are stepping up to start Watch schemes in towns, villages, and estates across the region.
- Come a meet us at local events - we’re helping organise local events like crime prevention stalls, community days, and scam awareness sessions.
- Young people– this autumn, we’re running a youth-led community safety project in Torbay, where 16–24 year-olds will choose and lead a project to make their area safer.
