Neighbourhood Watch is set to launch a brand-new podcast this May. The format brings together well-known faces to share their experiences of crime and community.

The podcast, hosted by former police officer turned comedian Alfie Moore, best known for his popular BBC Radio 4 series It's a Fair Cop, will see celebrities open up about the communities where they grew up and how crime has touched their lives. Moore's unique background, bridging law enforcement and entertainment, makes him the ideal guide through what promises to be a compelling and thought-provoking series.

Confirmed guests include: Ruth Dodsworth, the well-known weather presenter, who will speak candidly about her experience of coercive control. Radio presenter Andy Bush will share the devastating story of how his parents were cruelly scammed out of their life savings, while Bobby Seagull - broadcaster, educator and University Challenge star - will recount his encounters with street crime. Completing the line-up so far is GMTV legend Penny Smith, who will discuss her fears and feelings in the aftermath of being burgled. The episodes are scheduled for release in May, with more guests to be confirmed.

John Hayward-Cripps, Chief Executive of Neighbourhood Watch, said: "We're excited to be able to produce a show that will be both entertaining and an engaging way to deliver serious messages about crime reduction. Being a victim of crime can be a very personal and traumatic experience, so talking to people about these experiences is a privilege. It will be fascinating and insightful and we hope it will help a lot of people."

Neighbourhood Watch is one of the UK's largest voluntary organisations, working to build safer, stronger and more connected communities across the country. The podcast represents a new chapter in the charity's efforts to reach wider audiences and encourage open conversations about crime and community engagement.

The format of the podcast has been crafted with producers Adore Audio to appeal to a broad audience — not just those with a direct interest in crime prevention, but anyone who enjoys honest, human stories told by familiar faces. By drawing on the real-life experiences of its guests, the show aims to reduce the stigma around being a victim of crime and empower listeners with practical knowledge about staying safe.

Further guests and a release date for the first episode are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
