Neighbourhood Watch has released updated guidance to help communities tackle antisocial behaviour (ASB) in support of Resolve's ASB Awareness Week 2025.
The updated guide, "Recognising, recording and reporting antisocial behaviour," provides clear advice on identifying different types of ASB, from neighbour disputes and noise nuisance to harassment and environmental damage. It aims to help residents navigate the often-confusing landscape of reporting ASB effectively.
ASB Awareness week runs from 30 June to 6 July. Now in its fifth year, Resolve's ASB Awareness Week focuses on the impact of ASB on victims and communities, the support available to those affected, and the importance of partnership working. The initiative is backed by HM Government, the Local Government Association, and key partners including the National Police Chiefs' Council and Neighbourhood Watch.
Because the term 'ASB' covers such a wide range of activities, knowing how to recognise and report it can be frustrating. This updated resource will help people understand what constitutes antisocial behaviour and where to turn for help.
Key features of the updated guidance include a 14-day ASB diary for recording incidents, step-by-step reporting procedures, and advice on when to contact emergency services. For serious, criminal, or dangerous situations, residents are advised to contact police on 999 for emergencies or 101 for non-emergencies.
As part of the week's activities, Resolve is also hosting a summit featuring a series of ASB webinars focusing on different areas, ensuring communities have access to the help and knowledge they need to address antisocial behaviour effectively. Find out more and sign up.
