Karin is currently the Wales member on the Youth Justice Board for England and Wales. She is also a school governor at a Welsh medium high school in Cardiff, where she serves as the lead governor for safeguarding. Previously, she held the position of vice chair on a primary school’s governing body.
Following several years in medical research, she joined the Government Statistical Service. Over the last 35 years she has held a number of positions within the Welsh Government, most recently the role of Deputy Director for Community Safety.
In recognition of her contributions to Community Safety in Wales and to the community in Cardiff, she was honoured with the MBE in the 2014 New Year Honours.
Karin lives in Cardiff and is married with two grown up children and four grandchildren.
