I heard about the Youth Council through my involvement with Neighbourhood Watch activities at the University of East London, where I had the opportunity to engage with community initiatives and learn more about local youth programs.

I am currently involved in community volunteering activities, including working with Neighbourhood Watch where I supported community safety initiatives and delivered a presentation on youth crime awareness. I have also assisted elderly individuals with smartphones and digital tools to improve digital inclusion. Additionally, I have participated in volunteering activities with organisations such as Teebah Foundation, supporting donation and community engagement efforts.

Improving youth safety requires a stronger focus on awareness, engagement, and prevention. There should be more educational programs in schools and communities about crime, digital safety, and positive life choices. Increasing community-police collaboration and mentorship programs can help guide young individuals towards better opportunities. Additionally, providing more safe spaces, activities, and career support for youth can reduce involvement in harmful activities and create a more supportive environment.

I would set up a community-based youth engagement program that combines awareness, skill development, and mentorship. This would include workshops on digital safety, crime awareness, and career guidance, along with interactive sessions such as group discussions and activities. I would also involve local volunteers and professionals to mentor young individuals, helping them build confidence, stay engaged in positive activities, and make better life choices.
