The London Assembly Police and Crime Committee recently held a session examining neighbourhood policing and the experiences of young Londoners.

Our young people’s programme manager Ashley Fontaine spoke to the committee with Jessica West Principal at Ark Walworth Academy and Omar Alleyne-Lawler Police Engagement Manager at Hope in Haringey.

They discussed how safe young Londoners feel and explored:
• How safe young people feel in their communities
• What the Met is doing to engage with young people and build trust in policing
• How the Met’s operation in schools may be affected by cuts to Safer Schools Officers
