I've always enjoyed volunteering and have a passion for making the community a better place for young people, which is why I joined the Youth Council. What I love most is the variety of activities to get involved with – I particularly enjoyed working on a social media campaign and conducting research as part of a group project. I'm especially proud of the student safety social media campaign I ran, which had an excellent reach!

Through my time on the council, I've learned that crime is much more complex than I initially thought and that Neighbourhood Watch is an amazing charity. The experience has helped me develop my communication and teamwork skills, as well as enhance my social media abilities. I discovered the opportunity through the E-Cops newsletter and would advise anyone thinking about applying to go for it – it's an amazing opportunity. You can connect with me on LinkedIn to learn more about my experience.
