I joined Neighbourhood Watch because I believe that young people have an important role to play in building safer, more connected communities. I wanted to be part of a team that not only prevents crime but also empowers people to look out for one another. "I joined to grow, and to give back." As a first-year student, I am still discovering how I can contribute to society, and Neighbourhood Watch felt like the perfect place to start making a real difference.
Through volunteering with Neighbourhood Watch, I hope to develop my communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. I want to learn how crime prevention works at a community level and understand how young people can influence positive change. My goal is to help make the Youth Council a space where young voices are heard and valued. I also hope to encourage more young people, especially students, to get involved in community safety initiatives.
