Describe your best practice
The Meadow Road Neighbourhood Watch Group in Derbyshire set up a Facebook page and quarterly Newsletter. The Facebook page is our main way of sharing information and info from local groups, Crime Alerts, Safer Neighbourhood Team alerts, etc.

What did you do and why?
As well as setting up the Facebook page we realised that not everyone links in with Social Media so we have produced a quarterly Newsletter that is distributed to all residents in our group. It gives a news update, update on available funds, encourages people’s to submit any ideas on what the money could be used for, current issues, a summary of any issues and how they have been dealt with and future events.

Duration of the project
Ongoing – issued quarterly

What worked well?
Getting the message out to all residents. Keeping people engaged and the momentum going. Improved communication.

How did you overcome any challenges?
We have an appointed group secretary who compiles and prints the newsletters for us.

How did you cover any costs?
Via Watch group funds
