What inspired you to create a project about ASB awareness and education?
Locally in my city, crime and antisocial behaviour is a big thing, especially among youth, and if there were preventative measures and education rather than just punishment once they commit the act, it could start to change the view on youth crime and ASB.
How would you describe your experience of co-designing and co-leading this project with Neighbourhood Watch Network?
It has been a huge honour to be a part of this project, creating educational campaigns by young people for young people is truly amazing, and to launch a petition / open letter to the UK Government shows our passion and commitments.
Why do you think today's communities across England and Wales need to be aware of the impact of ASB?
People, specifically young people, need to be aware of antisocial behaviour because it’s the start of a slippery slope into more extreme crimes and harsher sentences. Educating people helps people, before they get to that point or prevents them from getting there at all.
What are your hopes for this project?
My hopes for this project are to raise awareness and increase education around youth crime and ASB, even if the petition / open letter isn’t successful in creating specific curriculum activities, I want to share our resources and our testimonies to help push positive change.
