Welcome packs available for new scheme co-ordinators

Personalised welcome packs for new Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinators are now available for order, the Neighbourhood Watch Network has announced as part of a project trial.

The packs include leaflets and posters to promote new schemes as well as guides and advice to help a co-ordinator to start their scheme.

It is hoped that the new packs will enthuse and assist new co-ordinators as they manage their schemes. The project is being funded by Co-op Insurance who will deliver up to 600 packs across England and Wales.

John Hayward-Cripps, CEO of the Neighbourhood Watch Network, said: “We want more people to feel the benefits of Neighbourhood Watch where they live. In places where a scheme is in operation, we know there are fewer crimes and communities are stronger and more connected with one another. We hope the packs will inspire and help more people to join and start schemes.

“Creating a new Neighbourhood Watch scheme involves some time and dedication but it can also be fun. You’ll get to meet new friends and neighbours in your community and you’ll feel safer and more secure as a result. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.”

Caroline Hunter, Head of Home Insurance at Co-op, commented: “We care about wellbeing in our local communities and want to help people create stronger, happier, safer places to live. By working with Neighbourhood Watch, we’re able to help bring neighbourhoods and communities together and make them safer for everyone.”

To apply for one of the packs, visit www.nwnewschemepack.co.uk and complete the webform. The webform will then be sent to the local Neighbourhood Watch Force Association or London Borough lead official to confirm the order. After confirmation, the pack will be personalised, printed and mailed out to co-ordinators.
