Barratt Estate Coltness
Scheme informationAround 2002 our estate was being subjected to vandalism by members of one family who lived nearby. This vandalism entailed breaking into sheds and outbuildings, breaking into cars and daubing cars with gloss paint. We, the residents of Berriedale Quadrant decided to set up 'Barratt Estate Neighbourhood Watch' some time later, the family moved away from the area, and since then, we have had little or no trouble. The president of the scheme was Mr. P. Waters, who is now sadly deceased, treasurer Ms. Nan Alexander, who, due toe ill-health, has had to give up her position. That leaves myself as co-ordinator. We do not have regular meetings, but have advice from Neighbourhood Watch/police by email, on a regular basis. This can then be passed on to our members.
