Your Local Scheme
Staindrop NHW was created in 2011. There had previously been a scheme in the village although it had become dormant. The village of staindrop has around 300 houses and the scheme covers all of these. Staindrop NHW holds meetings in the Scarth Hall on a monthly basis where members of the community are given updates from police about any crime figures or trends in the village. Other community issues can be brought to the meeting where everybody can work together on them to help keep Staindrop a pleasant and safe place to live. The aim of the scheme is to get residents of the village to communicate between themselves and increase community spirit. The scheme is always looking out for new members who can attend the meetings and/or volunteer to be a street contact person to deliver newsletters and be the face of NHW in there local area.
