I am a retired police Chief Inspector and I have 14 people in the Piddle Valley, ie Pidddletrenthide, Piddlehinton and White Lackington. I keep them apprised of all communications received from Dorset Police.

I was a Chief Inspector with Avon and Somerset Police and retired in 1993. I had been responsible for training inspectors in the South West region and thus knew a number of serving officers and some senior officers from School days and with whom I had previously served. They have all retired now! When I retired and returned to my old village I started to act as a co-ordinator 0f a home watch scheme where i live. At that time it was a telephone scheme whereby I would receive a message and would forward it to members. Over time this became entirely on line. This is not a high crime area but we do look out for each other and are happy to assist the local police in any way we can,
