Scheme coordinator

Keith Mitchell
The Laxton Close/ Bramley Crescent Neighbourhood Watch was started in 1994 by the late Laurie Hampson. Keith Mitchell, the current Coordinator, has lived in Laxton Close for some 38 years. He took over as coordinator from Laurie in 2010. Due to a significant number of issues with cold callers, he requested the setup of a Cold Calling Control Zone (CCCZ) for the whole of Bramley Crescent and Laxton Close, which was efficiently arranged by the Maidstone Neighbourhood Watch. Feedback from residents has confirmed the perception that the number of cold callers has significantly reduced as a result of the CCCZ being in place. Whilst Laxton Close has 100% of its residents as members of the scheme, Bramley Crescent has rather fewer and Keith would be particularly pleased to at least increase the coverage of residents in the lower two arms of Bramley Crescent. Our Membership is nil cost and the service normally provides messages sent out by email and supports residents who have any problems, such as dealing with unwanted visitors, on request.
