Nailsea Neighbourhood Watch
Scheme informationNailsea Neighbourhood Watch was established in 1991 and now has over 168 schemes registered with the Police, covering over 3,900 homes in the town.
The Watch operates a two-tier structure. At the bottom each scheme is run by a Co-ordinator providing a single point of contact between the Police and members of that scheme - typically households in a street. At the top tier is an Area Co-ordinator who chairs a Committee to manage the Watch business and is the main point of contact with the Police for Neighbourhood Watch in the town. The Committee publish a regular colour newsletter which is distributed to all the members and organise public meetings with guest speakers. The Watch AGM is held as part of the July meeting. There is also a Christmas Social every year, and all meetings are attended by the police.
