It’s here! National Neighbourhood Watch Week 2018!

We’re celebrating National Neighbourhood Watch Week 2018 (NNWW18) with more practical ways to keep people safe!

Crime in England and Wales is changing and to mark NNNWW18 – which runs from Saturday, June 16 – Sunday, June 24 – we’re providing new, practical information and help for our 2.3 million member households to protect themselves and their neighbours from even more types of crime.

The Neighbourhood Watch Network (NWN) is launching new Crime and Vulnerability Toolkits in NNWW18 which can be accessed here to provide information on the following areas:

• Domestic Abuse – which we know affects all communities
• Serious Violence – particularly knife crime
• Vulnerability and loneliness – affecting more people as families become more mobile
• Fraud and scams – electronic and traditional
• High harm crimes – Modern Slavery, Child Sexual Exploitation etc.

Neighbourhood Watch will use the Toolkits at a series of six regional seminars we’re hosting – starting in NNWW18 – to develop NW Champions in these areas who will act as a local resource to other coordinators and members.

These seminars will also be a platform to consult our members on the future strategy for the Neighbourhood Watch movement over the next three years.

David Huse, OBE, Chair of the Neighbourhood Watch Network (NWN), said: “These are exciting times for Neighbourhood Watch as we look to the future of our fantastic movement and how we stay relevant in a rapidly changing world and make the most positive impact on communities across England and Wales.

“During NNWW18 we’ll be asking our members how our movement continues to help build safer and stronger communities over the next three years and beyond. We’ve invited hundreds of our members to a series of six seminars to enable our members to help develop NW’s Future Strategy for the next three years.”
