Kensington Road Residents Association

Scheme information

Kensington Road Residents Association and Neighbourhood Watch covers all the properties and the community in Kensington Road (BS5 7NB) and the local surrounding area. We aim to make the area safer and more cohesive, and find ways of bringing the community together by organising regular community events. We also aim to improve and retain the Victorian character of the road, as well as addressing environmental issues. We received the Neighbourhood Watch Urban award from Avon & Somerset Constabulary in 2006, and are regular winners for 'Bristol in Bloom' and The Royal Horticultural Socities 'Its your Neighbourhood Awards.' In 2013 Kensington Road won 'Outstanding' the highest level for the fourth consecutive year from the Royal Horticultural Societies 'It's your Neighbourhood Awards' together with the Gordon Ford Trophy for best neighbourhood entry in the whole of the South West of England from South West in Bloom. In 2013 Grenville Johnson received The Lord Mayor Of Bristol's medal for his community & Environmental work.

Grenville Johnson
Grenville Johnson, Founder and Chair of Kensington Road Residents Association & Neighbourhood Watch, BS5 7NB. By working closely together we aim to make our community inclusive, friendly, safe and free from crime & anti-social behaviour, as well as improving our local environment through gardening projects and regular social events such as street parties. I arrange regular meetings for local residents, and we work closely with the Police, city Councillors and Council Officers, as well as seeking additional help and support from other support agencies. As Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator and Chair of the residents association I send regular newsletters to my neighbours and residents and the other partners who work with us. We also have our own constitution that outlines all we are trying to achieve.
