James lucas
In 1998 i was a serving police officer in north Herefordshire and a resident of Brimfield. During 1998 a spate of dwelling house burglaries were occurring in surrounding villages and it was obvious to me that Brimfield could be the next target. It was important to me that residents should be the eyes and ears for the police in reporting suspicious activity and play a part in protecting their own community, hence the beginnings of our Neighbourhood Watch group. Brimfield is divided into 10 geographical areas each with its own sub-coordinator who report suspicious activity, sightings and concerns raised by residents to me before alerting the police. Brimfield NHW has a proactive attitude to reporting incidents to the local policing team in Leominster which provides reassurance to our residents.
