Scheme information

Newbridge Neighbourhood Watch Scheme is a well established scheme of very involved residents who care about one another and the safety of their area, working in partnership with the local police. Any information sent out byt the police to the coordinator is circulated to all members and any information sent out by the NHW office relating to community matters, scams or internet fraud, is also circulated to all members. Newbridge is a very active innovative scheme.

Scheme coordinator

Hilary Harris
I set the scheme up in 1970 and have been the coordinator ever since. I am also a Police Volunteer and work in Penzance Police Station as a volunteer assisting Mary Shead, who is the DaCCWA Area Representative. I am also a member of the Newbridge Parish Council who play an active part in the community. I am Deputy Chair of the Penwith Area Crime Prevention Group - consisting mainly of local NHW coordinators who meet on a quarterly basis. I believe passionately in Neighbourhood Watch, both as a way to help the local police by passing on relevant information and also looking out for the vulnerable members of Newbridge.
