Spring Park Neighbourhood Watch

Scheme information

This is the largest group of watches, (83 in number) in the London Borough of Croydon. The Spring Park Watch group has been active for 10 years and came into being as anti-social behaviour and other crimes made people feel "in fear" of crime. There is a higher than average elderly population who did not know how to deal with incidents, who and when to report and were not aware of what they could do to help themselves. Reporting of crime was low. We set up a paper message system which initially started with 700 homes and now covers 2,400 homes. We offer 3 telephone advice lines 7 days a week from 9.30am to 9pm. We work closely with our Safer Neighbourhood Team.
