Tods Piece

Scheme information

The Neighbourhood Watch scheme is a partnership where local residents come together to make their communities safer. It involves the Police, local authorities and, above all, individuals and families who want to make our neighbourhood as safe as possible, and a great place to live. It aims to help people protect themselves and their properties and to reduce the fear of crime by means of improved home security, greater vigilance, accurate reporting of suspicious incidents to the police and by fostering a community spirit.

Despite being a quite and pretty safe environment, from time to time we have seen outbreaks of anger on Tod's Piece, heard loud music playing until the wee hours and recently encountered a burglary. By becoming a closer community we can watch one anothers homes whilst neighbours are at work or away on holiday and reduce the risk of further discomfort to our oasis of peace in Uppingham.
