Police horse 'Harry Patch' receives gift from the Royal British Legion

A police horse that was named after the oldest surviving WW1 veteran Harry Patch by local schoolchildren today received a gift from the Royal British Legion. Harry the horse was presented with a blanket with his name and a print of a commemorative poppy on it to remind people of his namesake and the sacrifice that people make by going to war.
PC Jon Green, Harry Patch's rider said: "This is a real honour. We are delighted that the British Legion have chosen to present him with this blanket and he will wear it with pride wherever he goes."
Harry was presented with the blanket at a ceremony at 1pm on Tuesday 21 February at the Mounted Section in Bower Ashton, Bristol.
