The Neighbourhood and Home Watch Network is looking to recruit a dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced Service Manager to continue to develop the ground breaking Neighbourhood Return service for keeping Alzheimer’s sufferers safe within their communities. Funded by the Silver Dreams BIG Lottery Fund, you will take operational responsibility for developing the prototype service through to the live running across Oxfordshire and other areas.
Neighbourhood Return’s vision is to provide a community network of volunteers who will go out and search locally to them for a person who may have got lost or wandered due to the symptoms of Alzheimer’s. Over 40,000 people get lost for the first time in the UK due to Alzheimer’s every year.
By working with existing networks of volunteers such as Neighbourhood Watch / Home Watch and Age UK and developing links with new volunteers, we want to ensure Alzheimer’s sufferers remain safe within their community and carers have additional low-level support which they can access if needed.
