The Neighbourhood & Home Watch Network (England & Wales) is the national umbrella organisation for Neighbourhood Watch and Home Watch schemes.
We believe that everyone has a right to feel safe where they live. Our members promote that right by helping build strong, friendly, active communities where crime and anti-social behaviour are less likely to happen. Our schemes' activities are characterised by their diversity, taking in everything from home security improvements to youth workshops to neighbourhood clean-up projects. As the national body for Neighbourhood and Home Watch schemes, we give like-minded local people the resources they need to contact each other, share information and increase safety and social cohesion. In short, we help neighbours help each other.

What do we do for our members?
- We provide a free online communication system for all our members across England and Wales.
- Within the last two years we have secured funding for free Public Liability Insurance and free Neighbourhood Watch and Home Watch window stickers for all our members.
- We have also launched the 'Our Watch' website including a wealth of online resources for our members and the general public such as toolkits, case studies, good practice guidance, safety advice and customisable materials in the NHWN branding.
- We support a Regional Representatives Group where a representative from each region is tasked with feeding back views and experiences from grassroots members so that we can find out what our members really need and want.
However, many of our members don't have internet access and, even when they do, it isn't always practical for schemes to print their own resources especially if there is no local funding available to support that.
Why do we need your support?
Most people who are involved with Neighbourhood Watch or Home Watch 'donate' by giving their time to be part of a scheme on their street. Many people give much more of their time by attending meetings, organising events, being part of wider area committees and representing their area at county or even regional level. This amount of donated time is worth a huge amount of money and is what keeps Neighbourhood Watch and Home Watch going.
However, from a national perspective we would love to be able to provide more resources for our members, particularly a generic 'About Neighbourhood and Home Watch' leaflet or booklet. We have also been asked about a Coordinator Pack. These are just the beginning. There is so much more that we would like to offer our members but at present do not have the resources to do so, and we need money as well as time in order to make that happen.
