Citizen Patrols
On Thursday 16th May 2013 at about 9.50 p.m. three men attempted to rob a store in Sherwood . They entered the CO-OP supermarket , 624 Mansfield Road, Sherwood but left empty handed and no one was injured.
The first man is described as between 5ft 7" and 5ft 8". He was wearing blue Adidas bottoms with white stripes, a black hooded jacket, black trainers and black gloves.
The second man was the tallest of the three, at around 5ft 10" to 6ft . He was wearing dark Nike bottoms, a grey cotton scarf with a dark pattern across his face, black Adidas trainers, a black hooded jacket with a blue checked block on the upper part of the jacket, it also had a a white square label in the middle below the neckline.
The third offender was 5ft 9", he was also wearing a black hooded jacket and dark bottoms with grey gloves.
The men ran in the direction of Winchester Street.

This type of crime is extremely rare in Sherwood and the Sherwood Neighbourhood Policing Team would like to reassure you that regular high visibility retail surgeries and visits to the shops are conducted by the Team to offer reassurance to staff, gather intelligence and prosecute and deter any possible offenders.
To assist this process a dedicated Retail Crime Liaison Officer has been allocated to the Sherwood ward.

Overnight on Friday 17th May two more motor vehicle have been targeted by thieves and power tools stolen, one vehicle was in the area of Stainton and the other at Gatebeck.
Police would like to hear from anyone noticing any suspicious persons or vehicles seen in these or any other areas.
And we would like to remind the public to ensure where possible tools etc. are not left in vehicles overnight and that vehicles and outbuildings are kept locked and secure.

Overnight between 21:00 hours Thursday 16th May 2013 and 06:00 hours Friday 17th May 2013 a burglary occurred on Woodsghyll Drive, Harraby whereby a secure compound containing two large containers was broken into and a number of high value tools and equipment were stolen.
Police are appealing for any information.
