The Big Lunch
The Big Lunch, run by the Eden Project, is a campaign which aims to encourage as many people in the UK as possible to have lunch with their neighbours once a year.
Events can be anything from a simple lunch in the garden to a huge street party. The first Big Lunch was held in 2009; over a million people took part in 2011 and with the long bank holiday and Jubilee tie-in it is estimated that over 6 million people took part in 2012!
This community-spirited event is a natural fit with our ethos of meeting our neighbours and building strong and friendly communities where people feel safe. We encourage our members to take part, hold a lunch, get to know their neighbours and maybe even recruit some new members!
The Big Lunch 2013 will take place on Sunday 2 June and you can order a Big Lunch Pack here.
