Catch22

Catch22 is a national youth charity. We work with them as part of the National Citizen Service (NCS), a new flagship government initiative.

This project is aimed at giving all 16-year-olds a chance to take part in a 6-7 week summer programme that is both challenging and fun and acts as a landmark in young people’s development. It was piloted in the summer of 2011. As part of the project, our members are involved in helping young people to take on active roles within their communities.

Neighbourhood and Home Watch coordinators in various locations will be encouraged and supported to engage with NCS graduates and diversify their volunteer pool.

We are supporting coordinators to help develop suitable opportunities during the pilot project and primary project and assisting with monitoring and evaluation requirements as specified by Catch22. We hope that the increased engagement of young people across the Network will help diversify the membership and ensure that the movement remains inclusive. The project also provides a platform for young people to get involved with NHW and ensure that their voice is heard.
